REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE

(a) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

(b) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(d) Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.

(e) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).

(f) Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

(g) Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

(h) Disconnect the fuel injector connector.

(i) Disconnect the noise filter connector.

(j) Remove the bolt and disconnect the 7 clamps.

(k) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

(l) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(m) Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(n) Disconnect the fuel injector connector.

(o) Disconnect the noise filter connector.

(p) Disconnect the throttle sensor connector.

(q) Disconnect the oil pressure sender gauge connector.

(r) Disconnect the 7 clamps.

(s) Disconnect the 2 air switching valve connectors.

(t) Disconnect the 5 clamps.

(u) Remove the 3 bolts.

(v) Remove the engine wire.

2. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the fuel tube .

3. REMOVE CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK PLUG

(a) Remove the 2 water drain cock plugs from the water drain cocks.

(b) Remove the 2 water drain cocks from the cylinder block.

4. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

(a) Remove the nut and mounting insulator.

5. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

(a) Remove the nut and mounting insulator.

6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.

7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.

8. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

9. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

10. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY

11. REMOVE NO. 1 HOSE TO HOSE TUBE

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 tube.

12. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

13. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the No. 2 fuel tube.

14. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the fuel tube.

15. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE HOSE (w/ Oil Cooler)

16. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

17. REMOVE FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT

18. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

19. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

20. SEPARATE AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

21. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

22. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY

23. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

24. REMOVE FLUID COUPLING BRACKET

25. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

26. REMOVE OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

27. REMOVE AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

28. REMOVE INLET WATER HOUSING

29. REMOVE ELECTRIC AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

30. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE

31. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR TUBE

32. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE

(a) Disconnect the 4 knock sensor connectors.

(b) Disconnect the 3 clamps. Then remove the engine wire.

33. REMOVE CASE SEPARATOR

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and case separator.

34. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR

35. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

36. REMOVE RADIO SETTING CONDENSER

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 noise filters from the cylinder head cover.
